How does YOKUU's probiotic allergen spray work?

The science behind our latest product.

Here's everything you need to know about our spray.

Do you suffer from allergies?

You're in good company. Allergies affect about 35% of the population, making them one of the most common health issues today.

At YOKUU, we understand the struggle. That's why we wanted to create a solution that reduces allergens inside your home. We do this by selecting probiotic strains that can effectively reduce the allergenic load inside your home in a 100% natural way.

But do you know what exactly allergens are, why they make us feel so bad, and how probiotics can help relieve allergy symptoms? Here's everything you need to know about the science behind our latest innovation.

Why do some people have allergies?

There's few things worse than getting into bed and suffering a never-ending sneeze attack. Allergies can make it tough to get a good night's sleep. In fact, most allergy symptoms around the house happen in the bedroom, because that is where we spent 1/3rd of our time.

Common sources of allergens like house dust mites, pet dander - or dead skin cells- and pollen thrive in textiles around your bedroom (your mattress, pillow, and curtains, for example). When you're allergic, your immune system mistakes these harmless substances (often proteins) as threats and triggers a defence mechanism. This leads to the release of chemicals like histamine, causing the symptoms of an allergic reaction.

Allergen Spray Starter Kit - YOKUU

Dust mite terror

Among these allergens, dust mites are some of the most common causes of allergies. Dust mite allergens are proteins found in the mite's feces and decaying bodies, and they feed on organic detritus like flakes of shed human skin. 😷

What are probiotics?

Quick refresh - probiotics are living microorganisms that have a positive impact on human health. At YOKUU, we are currently designing probiotic hygiene products that can improve indoor health.

How can probiotics help with allergies?

You might be asking yourself - what do probiotics have to do with allergens? Well, probiotics can break down these allergens, resulting in fewer allergic reactions.

In our Allergen Spray, the probiotics produce a wide range of all kinds of protease (protein-degrading) enzymes that remove the allergens.

What are the benefits of using YOKUU's Allergen Spray?

Discovering the benefits of YOKUU's Probiotic Allergen Spray is like finding a secret weapon in your battle against allergens. The trick is that it doesn't just mask symptoms but acts directly on the source: textile-dwelling allergens like dust mites. By reducing these allergens, individuals experience fewer allergic reactions.

With YOKUU, you also play into building a healthy microflora in the home. Healthy biodiversity in the home is important in building a healthy immune system for children. Sterile environments are detrimental in this regard and is scientifically cited as the hygiene hypothesis.

Unlike many conventional allergy products containing harsh chemicals, YOKUU's spray is a safer option for households with children, pets, or sensitive skin. Its lack of heavy fragrances makes it suitable for those sensitive to strong odours as well.
